![]() "My name is Mr Darcy, I am 7 years old, 17hh and a dark bay ID x TB, so big and beautiful. In February 2006, I needed to have two months rest due to tweaking a ligament so after a lot of investigation my Mum decided to send me to Sharon Holt. I spent two lovely months in a field with two older ladies. Sharon was there to take care of us all, grooming, feeding, checking the field, organising farrier and vet visits, loving us, giving me lots of carrots and making sure my Mum visited every week. At the end of my two months I had to return to the real world and my Mum really appreciated how I was cared for and was very pleased at how happy I was during my holiday. I know she would recommend Sharon Holt to anyone who needed help looking after their horse, even people with big, unruly teenagers like me". Mr Darcy (Owned by Emma Ford, Slough)
"Sharon Holt is a godsend. She has been looking after our old pony for over a year now and I think she loves her as much as we do. We were looking for a quiet safe loving home with daily care for our retired mare Tally. She is much loved and my daughter is at university and unable to give her daily care anymore. I now work more than I used to so we needed a "home from home" for her. Sharon looks after her as if she were her own. We can visit anytime unannounced and Tally is always happy quiet and beautifully cared for. Her field, shelters and stables are well kept and safe and she is checked at least twice every day and wants for nothing. Every month she has an "MOT" general weight and condition check. She has as much (or more) hay as she needs and unlimited treats and cuddles. We get email and text updates and even pictures. It is lovely to find somewhere where she can be looked after professionally but also very caringly - this can be hard to find. Sharon is professional but very easy to get along with and very approachable. She takes care of everything from farrier visits to poo picking and both myself and my daughter would recommend her without hesitation". Debs Davis, Thorpe
'Tally Ho' - waiting for a groom
"I had my favourite polo pony (Jack) arriving from Australia that would require very close attention upon arrival however I could not of cared for him myself due to work commitments. As a result I was very close to cancelling the trip. Anyway, I chose to keep him with Sharon and what I witnessed was my horse getting complete 5 star treatment. Sharon’s dedication and knowledge of looking after ponies put my mind totally at rest and it was if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. The ability to truly care for a horse is not something you can teach, it has to come naturally from within, and Sharon demonstrated this from start to finish. If I ever have any more ponies arriving in the UK from overseas, or if I am ever in need of someone to take special care of any of my ponies, I will not hesitate for a single second to use her services again. I can not recommend her services enough". James Wayland, London
